美国运输部目前正调查一起发生在上个月的空中惊魂事件，疑似塔台误判，一架赛斯纳(Cessna)飞机与另一架正要起飞的达美航空（Delta Airlines）客机彼此相距仅152米，幸好飞行员当机立断向右闪避，否则将事一桩无法弥补的悲剧。
根据美国有线电视新闻网（CNN）2日报导，航空网站FlightAware的数据显示，上月17日，达美航空（Delta Airlines）一架波音757客机原订从奥兰多国际机场（Orlando International Airport）飞往亚特兰大(Atlanta)，却在约500英尺处发现另一架飞机，彼此距离相当于一个半足球场；报导称，两架飞机的飞行员都表示看见彼此。

联邦航空局(FAA)发布声明指出，“达美航空获准从左-35跑道起飞不久，赛斯纳也从左-36跑道起飞。”
驾驶赛斯纳小型飞机的机长克拉克(Malik Clarke)接受美国广播公司采访时表示，“我看到达美的客机在跑道上，以为是要准备降落，因为塔台不可能置我们于危险之中。后来它越飞越高，看起来不对劲，我立刻向右转…”详细情形待相关单位调查厘清。
