贝森特在当地时间14日晚接受美国电视台“Newsmax”的节目“Bob Schmitt Tonight”访问时透露：“另一件事是，作为负责执行制裁的财政部，我们现在看到的是老鼠正在逃离这艘船！”
贝森特指出，伊朗领导层把数百万、甚至数千万美元电汇出境，或偷偷带出国外，“所以他们正在弃船而逃，我们看到这些资金流入世界各地的银行和金融机构。”
他也誓言将查清这些金流：“我们财政部所做的，就是追踪资金流向！”
